
Highway Seasonal Operator II - Truck Driver
Chippewa County is currently accepting applications for 2025 Seasonal Operator II – Truck Driver positions within the Highway Department. The job duties of the seasonal Operator II – Truck Driver include but are not limited to: provide highway/bridge maintenance & construction, construction & maintenance materials handling, sand & gravel mining activities, highway facilities maintenance, and provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.
A seasonal Operator II may be assigned, initially, to only one area; however, as length of service increases, an Operator II will be expected to perform work in other areas as needed.
2025 Season is already underway and will continue through late October 2025.
Seasonal employment that averages 40 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or GED equivalent required. Class B CDL without restrictions E and L required. Class A CDL and N-Tanker Endorsement required within 6 months from date of full-time hire. MSHA certification for work in mines preferred. Employer-provided certification to be obtained within 12 months of full-time hire. Certifications – as determined by the County based on the position. Road maintenance experience preferred. Starting Wage: $23.41 per hour. *This is a non-benefited position.
